A WOMAN who stands accused of microwaving her baby daughter to death confessed to the murder and told her boyfriend the child would still be alive if he had not been out cheating, a US court has heard.
At the trial of China Arnold in Dayton, Ohio, Terrence Talley said he and Arnold took the one-month-old -named Paris - to hospital, where she was pronounced dead in August 2005 and that Arnold had confessed to killing the baby, the Associated Press reported.
Talley also testified that during a phone call months later, Arnold told him of a possible reason for the the death.
"She told me if I wouldn't be out cheating, my baby would still be alive,'' Talley testified, accodring to the AP report..
Arnold faces a possible death sentence if convicted of aggravated murder .
She has pleaded not guilty.
Talley - under questioning by the defense attorney - acknowledged telling people he did not have any idea what happened to the baby and the defence has said that people other than Arnold had access to the baby.
The defence also said Arnold was intoxicated when the baby died.
While Talley testified that Arnold was drunk, he said she was not so drunk that she wouldn't know what happened to baby Paris.
Arnold's trial is expected to continue another two weeks.
